Containers for a Cause contributes the proceeds from redeemed containers to local charities and nonprofit organizations.
Those deposits can add up fast, bolstering the efforts of a variety of causes. From animal shelters and community fundraisers to larger initiatives, your containers make the difference. Our quarterly recipient of your donation deposits will go to Kids First Law Center.

Committed to Our Community
In fall 2024, we teamed up with Dance Marathon and the Iowa Children’s Hospital to collect containers during Iowa home football games. The proceeds went directly to both organizations in the fight against childhood cancer.

Kids First Law Center
We pick a local nonprofit every quarter to receive money from deposited containers. Since 2022, we’ve donated more than $65,000 through this initiative! This money comes from a few places:
- • Undesignated donations and abandoned bags
• Customer-donated containers
• Can Shed will match 20% of the proceeds from total-donated containers
Kids First works to give children a voice in custody and divorce proceedings through legal advocacy and representation. The organization serves more than 2,500 children a year in Linn and Johnson counties.
